Trevor was partially evaluated for speech therapy the other day. His teacher just told us that he has comprehension at a high school level. I don't know just how good that is, but it sure sounds cool!
As for his actual speech, I think they still need to evaluate him for that and I know they will find him behind. I know he is not as behind as he seems. Part of the reason might be the fact that he tries to formulate thoughts that he doesn't always have the words for. Part of the reason is also just laziness. He just gets lazy about pronouncing certains letters (like "v"). But he has trouble with some letter combos- "sl" for example.
But I am proud of my little man! When he was first evaluated when he was around 3, he was graded ahead for comprehension and behind in speech, too. But she said he did not need speech therapy, unless we wanted to give it, and that he should catch up in time. The time has come, and he has not caught up, so I am hoping he will be approved for speech therapy twice a week at school and his ennunciation of words will improve vastly.
I wonder if his love of books and me reading him chapter books as helped his comprehension. So far we have read Alice In Wonderland, Farmer Boy, a few books in the Narnia Series as well as many poems by Dahl and Silverstein.

Ariel funny
We went for a drive this weekend and were on our way home. The kids had finished a nap and were up and playing. Ariel was looking at her "Stopping By Woods on a Snowy Evening" picture book. She is absolutely obsessed with horses and loves this picture book for the pictures of the horse pulling the sleigh. So she is looking at the book and chanting "Happy Face neigh-neigh" over and over again in a cheerful voice. Then she switched to this like cross between death metal/evil chucky doll voice and growls "Happy face neigh-neigh!" a couple times. I looked back at her and she stopped and looked at me with this fearful look and exclaimed "I don't LIKE that song!"
I laughed so hard I cried.

Ariel
Maybe I should put more random daily updates here as it strikes me.
Ariel is currently in the kitchen while I finish up my psychology assignment. She has munched some of Chaos' food. She is currently moving the water from dish to dish as well as drinking some (don't worry, I just put the water down an hour ago). Poor mini Roboraptor is on his side with his little legs failing. Ariel occasionally croons "Dinosaur love me" as she tries to give him food or water and hugs his little plastic self.
The other two are playing Starfall, which seems to be a new addiction. OK. I need to finish my assignment because this course is intensive! I couldn't imagine being a full time student. Two at a time is plenty for me. heh.
